These images found throughout the site are called "Veve's" and are drawn during ceremonies by the Mambo's and Houngan's of the house to help invoke the Lwa to join in the celebration.

Bonswa!! Welcome to the Danbala Wedo Society web site. This society is run by Mambo Asogwe Jennifer whose lineage goes clear back to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. We are an asson-lineage traditional Vodou house made up of one Mambo Asogwe, one Hounsi Bossale and several new ti-fey that practice in the Indianapolis area though our services spread worldwide should the need arise. Our main house; Sosyete Belle Fleur Ginea has many other sosyete's underneath it. We accept people of all walks of life, gender, age, sexual orientation, race, etc...

We do not condone nor do we allow any kind of discrimination. That would defeat the entire purpose of practicing Vodou which is a communal religion. We have received several new ti-fey and are still growing. We are in the process of putting together Vodou workshops, retreats and more. We have been blessed by the Lwa through the clients we've made and the clients we're making. God bless to all!!

Our members are being taught everyday something new in the Vodou. Although already trained in some aspects of sevis, our serviteurs are always learning; infact we all are.

Our head peristyle in Haiti is relocating to a much larger space in Petionville (suburb of Port-au-Prince). That is happening rather quickly and we look forward to it's opening.

Our new members and clients come from all different backgrounds, Latina, Arabic, African-American, Caucasian and more. Knowing that we can all come together as a family (fanmi) and share the same views and experiences is what it's truly all about, unity.

We will be bringing in new members for any of those who wish to join our family. This can be done through a service called a Lave Tet, (head washing). Our group will teach you dignity, honor, respect and family values. We expect our members to be on their best behavior when attending a service here or at Mama Marie's. There is to be no backstabbing or disrespecting of anyone in the family at anytime.

I have been actively practicing Haitian Vodou for over eight years and am now at the rank of Mambo Asogwe (High Priestess) which is the highest position held in the Vodou. Along with the many gifts I have received during my practice, one of those is the ability to read the tarot cards with precise accuracy. I am able to quickly give the information that a client is seeking about themselves, love, careers and more.  I also have the ability to communicate with the spirits (Lwa) for guidance, assistance and determination. My services include; wanga (all types), pwen, lave tet, kanzo, maraj Lwa, manje Lwa, sevis Lwa, divinations, cleansings, healings and more...as well as dream interpretations. Dreams can mean many things. They can be a form of communication from the other side that we are not all trained on how to translate. I can assist you with this.  I received the rank of Asogwe in Port-au-Prince and was initiated as Mambo Su Pwen in Jacmel, Haiti in the year 2000 all which was done through the means of traditional initiation. I have held the Ason since that time. I also holds a Bachelors Degree from the Law School of Ball State University in Muncie, IN. My legal career has taken me to numerous positions in the paralegal, legal secretary, legal administrator and advice as well as legal acquisitions and counseling. I have also completed the courses for and received a certification in the healing arts of Reiki under the Usui Lineage. With this I am able to succesfully deliver energetic and spiritual healing as well as physical and mental healings.

Hounsi Ryan has been serving the Lwa for over two years and assists with many of the services I provide. His services as Hounsi include; veve drawing, manje Lwa, setting up altars, wanga, assisting with sevis or fet, assisting with possessions when they occur, working spiritual bathes and performing other various services with the Lwa.  He is also involved with the musical aspect of Vodou by working on and putting together the very complex rhythms of West African drumming as well as learning the songs from their Kreyol origin. Ryan will be giving classes and workshops for those interested in learning the drumming and singing side of Vodou. Many people serve the Lwa in many different ways; through music, song, prayer, foods and other offerings. Having been a percussionist for over 20 years, this is one way he chooses to serve, because it comes from the heart and that is what the Lwa ask for. Ryan holds an Associates Degree in Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Processes from ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis, IN. His educational path has landed him in numerous Quality Engineering and Process Engineering roles. Ryan has also studied the South Korean martial arts of Tang Soo Do under the instruction of Grand Master Deborah Hults of the World Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do Federation of Northern Indiana. This art helps to achieve spiritual attunement, inner and outer guidance for personal balance and oneness with nature. He is also involved with numerous forms of meditation and energy work including Shamanic drumming  as well as being a Reiki Master and Healer.

Our Vodou family covers a good part of the country with brothers and sisters in; Atlanta, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Chicago, D.C. and New Jersey. Our family is headed by Mambo Marie Carmel in New York City.
